Student Housing


Residences

The Studierendenwerk Stuttgart maintains 35 student residences with more than 7200 living spaces, most of which are located near the universities. The cheapest student rooms are available from monthly 200 euros up. Students can live in single rooms, apartments or in flat-sharing
communities. Living in student residences is limited to six semesters. wg-gesucht.de offers a large pool of flat advertisements for private owned residences or shared flats.

Registration

Students, who start their studies in Stuttgart, have to register their apartment at the local „Bürgerbüro“. There foreign students can receive a first-time residence permit. The fee is 50 euros. Therefore a rental agreement, a HdM acceptance letter or a acceptance letter for intensive German courses, a medical insurance certificate, a valid passport with a visa for studies or preparatory language courses and a biometric passport photo are needed.
